Catholic Daughters of the Americas
Court St. Mary #2158, Guthrie, Oklahoma
Barbara said, “We had no ladies organization back then, so we searched for one and found Catholic Daughters. Over the years, it has been an honor and a privilege to be part of Court St. Mary and also to have the opportunity to meet and work with Catholic Daughters at state and national levels. I am proud of all we have achieved.”
Currently, our Court has more than 55 members who focus on serving the parish and the community and furthering its devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Each meeting begins with recitation of the Rosary.
The Court meets monthly on the first Monday at 7 p.m. in the downstairs church hall. Among the Court’s activities are: the parish Thanksgiving dinner, Birth Choice Shower, CDA Education Contest, Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Angel Tree, funeral dinners, CDA Senior Citizens project and the list goes on.
Women who join the Court find friends, pray together and work on projects benefitting the parish and the community. On a larger scale, the Court supports programs like Project Handclasp through the United States Navy.
